Upon removal of my rad to do the KDP fix I noticed the rad is in poor condition. Never having had a rad with plastic tanks before I was wondering are these re-cored or is a complete replacement how it is done? Is aftermarket the way to go? Thanks, John.

It has been a few years since I needed one, but at that time they could not re-core it. I bought an aftermarket one it was $400

I would bet there is some competition on these now so hopefully the price has come down a touch.

Hey, where ya at in Ontario. I'm originally from Woodstock. I went to Arctic Rad. in Woodstock and got what ever they sell which has served well in other vehicles. Also, CHECK YOUR FAN!!!!! my fan ended up with a fatique crack in several blades and one broke off and went throught my less than one year old rad. There is an updated fan that has ridges stamped in the blades to stiffen them up. Here's the original post busted fan

Taker easy,

Mike

If your just wanting new tanks they can be replaced yourself very easy. if the middle section is bad then get a whole new one.

if its the original rad in your 94 than just replace the whole thing. my rad went bad in my 96 about 2 months ago. as you can tell its extremely eay to replace. maybe an hour labor from start to finish.
