I have been looking at trucks for awhile now......damn everything is so expensive...cummins really hold their value. Anyway, My bro has a 94 12 valve with 150k on it, reg cab 8 foot box. We are in Vermont so it is rusted pretty bad by now. what are the chances in finding a rolling chassis..btw the 12ver is stock. auto. maybe even a fummins. thanks for the replies. life is very busy

I think pretty good.

Have you tried www.car-part.com ?

It's a salvage yard database tool. Pulls up stuff from all over.

My previous owner put a 97 frame under mine, the 96 was too far gone.

It goes nation wide so some results are far away.

For reference I shipped a full size truck that was running from NJ to WA state then a van from WA to NJ was around $1200 to the trucking co., I went higher end on the auto transport deal with a local broker so you pay more, but you can register with places like www.uship.com and get a lower rates for sure. But if you find something anywhere and have some time there are folks who can get your purchase to you.

Most yards want to move these things and would most likely send some additional pics I would think if needed.

I was wondering, are all cabs the same in the 2500 and 3500 94to 02 can i buy a gas 2500 and plan on the installing the 12valve next summer?I searched for awhile. sorry im sure it has been asked before.

1500, 2500, 3500 from what I know all sheet metal is same when same body style.

Lots of good 1500s to get sheet metal from.

Someone did it last spring from what I recall.

It’s going to be a lot easier to transplant your engine into a truck that that came with the same engine. Is your ‘94 an auto or a 5-speed?

I put the engine out of my totaled ‘95 into a ‘98.5 24V truck, it wasn’t easy. I had to basically make the truck think the engine is a 24-valve by using all the sensors including the APPS and the ECM from the the 24-valve. I had to adapt a tone wheel and bracket from a Fummins conversion for the 24-valve crank sensor.

If you’re going to transfer all the wiring and cluster from your ‘94 you can use any ‘94-‘97 without any issues. ‘98-‘02 have a different dash with a different cluster that won’t work with your ‘94 wiring. The wiring on a gas truck will have things you don’t need and not have things you need for the Cummins.

Have you browsed Cragslist for a complete truck in the southern, south west and western states? I am sure you can find a complete rust free donor truck but it will require some serious seat time using your computer.
I know they are out there because thats how I found my 98, BUT it will require patience and time on your part.

So i called the fella that had the craigslist ad with the 12valves in the picture in wolcott VT.. He assured me he would have something for me. He is a very private person. i will connect with him sometime this week to make an appointment to tour what he has. Thanks very much.

Keep Smiling Marcel
