Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 94 trans question

We have a 94 2500 with a 12 valve and an automatic. It seems like the transmission is having a hard time getting into overdrive. When it is cold or your pulling a load you have to get to hight RPS before it will shift. From what i am told that is the only real electronic thing on this transmission. Is there any way that we can make it get into overdrive sooner. It think they call it the "Torque 8" I dont know if this is the same then as the 47re trans. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your '94 has a 47RH transmission. The main difference between them and the 47RE is the governor. Hydruaulic for the 47RH and Electronic for the 47RE. There are two adjustments you can make that affects OD. One is the TPS and the other is the kick down cable.
