Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
Hello all, I am a relatively new user. I bought my truck last august and have been lurking here since then, but only recently became a member. I have a quick question. As my profile says, I have a 94 2500 4x4 with a 5 speed.
The PO told me that he put a new transmission into it, claiming he got a heavier duty one, but lamented that he never really noticed a difference. I am under the impression that it already came with a NV4500HD, as they only put the other one in the smaller gassers, right? Are there any upgrades he might have went with that I don't know about? Also, is there a way I can crawl under there and find out what I have in there?
Did he perhaps mean that he took it in and got the 5th gear nut taken care of? I don't know much about that, other than that it loosening seems to be a persistent problem. I'm just curious about whether I'll need to look into doing something about that nut, or if the transmission upgrade (finding out what it is will help figure this out) took care of that, or whether perhaps that is the fix he was referring to.
Oh, it has 126k on it and is otherwise stock (to the best of my knowledge) and has never hauled anything in its life, the PO bought it intending to tow, even bought a 5th wheel hitch that he never installed and put trailer brakes on it, but intentions never became reality. Thanks in advance.
