Hi fellas, a buddy of mine has a 94 that wont start, says it seems like its not gettin fuel. Said truck just tunrs over but wont start. He also said someone said something about a solenoid along the frame somewhere that might be causeing the problem. Anyone know what they might be talkin about and where its located? Or do some of u think it might be somethin else?

Pritty sure the filters have been changed too!

Thanks

Buddy

There's a solenoid on the side of the injection pump that can fail. To test, push the plunger up into the canister, which lifts the fuel shutoff lever to the run position. Hold it up and crank it over, see if it starts.

Does your buddy have an email address? If so have him email me at -- email address removed -- There are several things that may cause it to not start. You can check the solenoid by turning the key to start and then leaving it in run. Look in front of and below the master cylinder and find what looks kind of like a small can. There is a rod from the bottom of that solenoid to a lever on the injection pump. With the key still in run try to pull up the rod. If it pulls up them twist the key to start and see what happens. If the solenoid was already up then it's ok. If it did not pull up on it's own, then there are a couple of possiblities. The most likely is the larger of the two relays on the firewall on the engine side of the master cylinder. Another is the blue wire on the postive post of the driver's side battery. It may be burned in two, corroded, or loose.
