The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Do a search, there are plenty of posts. Apparently the electrical contacts within the sensor get dirty over time. Some folks spray it with break cleaner, some take it apart, etc. I am at 155,000 miles and no trouble yet, so when it goes I will probably just buy a new one.

When I had my 95 it would do that, I was told that it was an electrical issue. I eventually tied the wires-with tye wraps- to the cooler line and the problem never showed again. They calle dit a ghost .

The TPS is an electrical issue. There have been documented "issues" of electrical cross inteference from the "electrical" wires being too close together hence the suggested remedy of pulling the "electrical" wires out of the wiring harness.

Having suggested searching posts on the topic and been rebuffed, who would you call?

(Ghostbusters) this is in invisible ink so you can't see it unless you are a believer.

I think that this is considered a normal 'Feature' from Dodge. Mine has done it once or twice a year since new.

When under warrenty, the 5 star boys replaced a ton of parts but never did kill this ghost (feature).

i chased the same problem for 3 months. $1300. then pulled the tps wires out of the harness and voila... ... . no more problems... .

i believe i was the first documented case of pulling the wires out of the harness, so if you do it and it works, just send the money to my paypal account... ... . :D
