I'm looking at a '95 Ram 3500 chassis cab with a service body and 5K electric over hydraulic crane. It's 2wd regular cab (not sure if chassis cabs came any other way) with the Cummins engine and NV4500 transmission. The truck is near Memphis and I'm near Atlanta. I know how quickly the weight adds up when you start outfitting a truck like that, but I just don't have any idea what the max GVW would have been for that year and configuration. Does anyone have any ideas?

I'm with Harvey, the GVWR is probably 10,500. However, if you are trying to estimate what it actually weighs I'd put it in the 8000 pound range. That is what my truck has gone to (starting wt 6700 lbs) with a 50 gal aux tank, hitches and a loaded tool box.

I'm sure it weighs well over 8K. In fact, my main concern is being at or near max GVW before even loading it with tools, bolt bins, small parts, etc. I think I may need to look for a 15K GVW truck.
11K? Thanks, Nick. I probably need to keep looking. This one is not close enough for me to test drive it over a Cat scale and I bet it would be pretty over weight by the time I loaded it. Not to mention ever hauling anything in the back. It's not the actual tires or springs I'm looking at, mainly just the DOT.
