Guys my truck is stock except for the straight pipe and I'm wondering if sliding my plate and AFC housing all the way forward will increase power. I'm also wondering if I should be concerned with EGT's since I don't have any gauges right now. I'm planning on getting an aftermarket plate and governor springs in late summer, but I want more power now. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Joe, The answer to moving you stock plate formard is 'yes'. You will get more power. But you will also get high EGT's. My truck had the stock plate forward when I bought it and had no gages. I put in gages and was surprised to see how high the temps would go (1500°). you really need gages if your going to put the power to it. The cost to fix a motor is alot more than what a gage cost.

have fun,
