my 95 has 240k on the odometer I recently installed 3000k gov springs and 024 Dvalves,im also running an s-300 turbo 58-65-14. it has been running very well for the last month or so, but twice in the last week it loses the ability to idle. when this happens I have to drive with both feet, auto trans, the last time it happened it fixed itself overnight ie cooled off. it did it again last night. When I moved this AM it sill won't idle. the last time I tried adjusting the idle without success, I could get it to ldle at 1200rpm but when put in drive it died. the next AM idle was at 1200 but it worked normally. So I reset the idle to 750rpm. it has run normally for a week, then this morning no miraculous recovery. any ideas?

Sounds like its not a transmission problem!

Governor spring didn't mess with my idle, haven't messed with DV's so I don't know what effect they would have on idle. To troubleshoot you can always swap original parts back and see what changes.

im wonderin if the new gov sprgs r to loose. the idle sprg is in thr also, but the fact tht it comes and goes has me baffeled

I installed 3k gsk springs a while back. Truck ran great. Then a couple months ago thought I'd add one more click to see if got more oomph. Well, truck ran like crap. Got idle set and it would die once put in gear. So I backed them off one click and double checked stud height. Readjusted idle and all is good now.
