Hey guys-

On our 96 12v, we are installing a magnaflow exhaust for a 98-02. Magnaflow doesnt make an exhaust for a 94-97 since the rear hanger is different. Everything else is the same. Can someone confirm that buying a new rear hanger for a 2000 truck will fit on my frame and work with the exhaust? Any pictures of the setup?

Thanks

Erik

You can fab a bracket up easy enough with some cold roll and a welder. Use a rubber stlye exhaust mount like the one before or behind the muffler .

I just bought a MBRP 4 inch exhaust for my 97 from www.dieselperformanceparts.com and they told me I need a rear hanger bracket that I could purchase from them or Dodge for the 98. 5 and up. I ordered their hanger for $30 PN HG6100.

Here is a link for DPP bracket:

http://www.dieselperformanceparts.c...selshop?f_success=dieselshop2&e_unique=HG6100

My 97 has one rod welded to the tail pipe piece for the stock rear hanger and the MBRP exhaust has two rods welded to the tail pipe piece for the newer style hanger. Therefore it requires a two rod hanger bracket.

They said the exhaust was made to fit the 98. 5 and up which has the double rod hanger. The MBRP exhaust was listed for 94-98. 5 but it requires the newer style hanger or buy their hanger. Sounds like we both have the same setup.

My bracket is on order and should be here in a few days and then I can install the 4 inch SS exhaust... and... Oo. ... WOOPEEE... and then... let the BOMBING begin  .

This is a great site but it can pull you to the dark side :-laf Lets see now the gages are on order and then #10 , 3kgsk, AFC springs and ... and... I just ran out of money :{ . I want more :D but it will have to wait.

Hope that helps.

I'll take a pic of the OEM hanger I have on the shelf. It looks to be similar in dimensions to the DPP bracket. If you need a PN I can dig that up too.

I think for the hanger and rubber gromets I spent about $30 so that seems like a fair price.

The PN for the bracket is: 52103053 List Price was $11. 10

The PN for the isolators is: 52017607 List Price was 5. 13 each

Pic to follow.

I got a fabbed hanger bracket with my kit & my '98 did not need it.

If you pay postage I'll mail it to you, but you'll still need the rubber pieces
