I am having some trouble with the transmission in my 96 1 ton. Yesterday, while pulling my fifth wheel the following occurred. the morning was a little chilly and after warming up the truck for 3-4 minutes I put the rig in D and nothing happened for a full minute. After that the truck seemed to run ok. 60 mph with a rpm of about 1900-2000. we traveled about 200 miles and when we hit traffic the truck would reach 35 mph with a rpm of 2500 and would not lock up until I let off the pedal. It seemed to lock up about half way and would finally lock up at 41mph. I had the transmission checked about a month ago, the fluid is good color and not shaving in the pan. Any ideas were I should start to look for a fix. I have added the manual lock with switch on the dash, however I used it very little as truck had been locking up well. Thanks for the help

Was it parked overnight facing uphill? If I park my truck facing uphill it will do this. I've been told that the TC leaks down. If your warm up was in park, it wasn't pumping fluid into it until you shift into gear. I put mine in neutral as soon as I start it. Seems to help.

same transmission problems I think

Seems mine is doing the same thing when it starts to get a little colder. I just speed up to higher than normal then come off the pedal and 4th (od) locks in and the converter shortely after it. I have another post in the forums looking for ideas on what might be wrong. I'll let you know what I get and keep an eye on your post.
