96 Ram 2500 rear ABS truck w/ larger gm cylinders installed. ABS and brake light both on. Brakes work good and the speedo seems to work fine.

I did some reading and heard it is the rear sensor that goes bad- dealer offers 2 of them, one 75 and other other is 50 bucks. which one should i go for?

Any other ideas?

had a 96 with the same prob

new owner said the vac line to the cruse was leaking?????????? and that fixed it

also check the load proporitioning valve if equipped

check speedo at less than 10mph and if it's not functioning there then it's prob toast also check and clean the plug

I have a 95 and had the same problem and it was a front wheel sensor that was bad and caused the lights to come on.

Well, the light went off the next ride after posting. Anyways, it came back on tonight again...

Speedo seems to work good. The truck only has rear ABS. I am thinking it is one of the two rear sensors or the vacuum line- can anyone tell me more about the vacuum issue?

Any more ideas?
