Is there any difference between the 12valve and 24valve intercoolers, and if there is would it be worth changing?
 
The 24 valve intercooler works a bit better in flow and cooling. Not enough to justify the cost IMO. If yours is trashed I would go ahead and upgrade to the 24 cooler.
