I did a coolant flush on my 96 Dodge Ram Cummins. Replaced all the components(Upper and lower radiator hoses, water pump, coolant bypass hose) except the thermostat(only because I couldn’t get a bolt loose on the thermostat housing). Refilled the coolant with the recommended coolant and mixture. Test drove and it ran good. Next day cranked it, drove it a couple miles and parked it and now it won’t start. Is there anything that I could’ve done in this procedure that would cause it not to crank? Or is it some other issue that I need to diagnose?

Short answer is No. If it doesn't crank, no click, zero sound, check the battery connections(clean? & tight). If auto, does is show P/N, brake switch (not sure if brake has to be depressed for starting), clutch switch. If it does crank, then fuel or S/O solenoid or S/O relay.
Start with the easy things first.

Thank you, I figured it out. The starter is not functioning. Every time I try to crank it the smokes started coming out of the starter. Is there an easy way to tell if I have a Denso OEM starter? I pulled it off and I don’t see a label/tag on it. Just need to know whether to rebuild or replace.

I crawl under my '96 and yes is a Denso I never replaced it, just got rebuild kit from Larry B five or six years ago.;)
