Was working on alternator repair on my '96 with Denso alternator.
The repair kit from Geno's (Gould's kit) came with okay instructions.
When pressing the small bearing out of the housing, I got the bearing out but I bungered up this super-thin washer with a lip on it.
Also, a wavy washer came out of the bearing 'cup' in the alternator housing.
So- do I need to find a replacement super-thin washer with a lip on it or am I okay without it?
I've been at this for 2 hours, not as easy job as I thought. Beat on the housings for 45 minutes before I finally got them apart by putting down the instructions and removing the pully and using a hammer on the alternator shaft to get the two halves apart.
Thank you,
KRS
