My 96 truck was sitting there idling fine and it just died. If you try and restart it will light up at any throttle position and die right out. Can anyone give me a hand? I have work lined up for tomorrow that I will have to cancel out if i cant fix this.

Cheers,

If it dies as soon as you let go the key from starting it then you may have a fuel solenoid or ignition switch problem. The fuel solenoid should pull up to start and then stay up when the key returns from start to run. It that is what is happening you can use some wire to fasten the fuel solenoid in the up position so you can drive it until you have time to fix it.

If that is not what is happening then you have a fuel supply system problem which may take some work to find.
