i noticed the other day neither belt on my truck locks up when yanked on, i am guessing that they are supposed to work like belts in most other cars and have a inertia system lock it up that's screwed up? at the moment about all it's good for is making cops happy by looking like i am belted in, some minor lap belt duty and smashing my head into the wheel if i hit something

They use a Pendulum to lock the Seat Belt. When your going down the road and nobody behind you put the brakes on hard and pull on the Seat Belt it will lock-up. Or just point the truck down a steep hill and it will not pull out.
