Anyone put a 04 24valve into a 95 dodge 2500?

I need a little help with my conversion. I purchased a 96 suburban, 94 Dodge diesel reg. cab long box 4x4 frame. I am fabing all the body mounts and had to move the engine back 4" inches to get it close to the firewall. I did not want to cut the frame to make the AC compressor fit and saw a partial picture in a magazine of some one putting it on the top of the engine on the passenger side. Is anyone familiar with this and can explain the belt routing or have a picture? It would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, to frustrated with PC can't get picture to go. There is one in my readers rigs under twins.

I am also doing a Suburban conversion down in Idaho and have a few posts on a thread a little ways down. I believe the compressor will end up on top of the alternator. There are pre-fabbed parts available from a few spots. Crewcab has them but is currently out of stock. Auto world also has pre-fabbed mounts and can really help you out. I am currently looking for more parts before I begin. I lack an intercooler, exhaust, air intake. I plan on doing the KDP and cleaning the grease off the block before I get started. I will be posting some pics of my motor transmission Suburban soon.

Jstokes, hope yours all goes well. I can fab the mounts I just need a picture of the belt routing. I am going to built all my exhaust out of 5" pipe since my second turbo has a 5" outlet. I rebuilt my engine and drilled were the locating pin is and used a long bolt though the cover so it can't fall out. If I can help let me know. I have one picture in my readers rig section.

i am doing a similiar conversion in my 88 subby. keep us posted on how things go. i'm in college and saving up for the NV5600 for her, so it'll be summer before i get to do mine. but i'd like to have as much figured out before we tear into it as possible.

I put a 6-speed (NV5600) in my GMC conversion and after doing so I wish I would have just went with the 5-speed! A 5-speed would have initially been $1200 less and then I would have swapped in the 1 3/8" imput shaft which wouldn't have made it that much cheaper than the 6-speed but driving on the street and not towing all the time I think its a nicer unit and can take as much power as the 6-speed. Also, I had a GM NV4500 in the truck before the conversion and I would have fit perfect... the NV5600 on the other hand is alot harder to fit and mine still is touching the body in one spot which is sending vibs thru the truck. . going to fix that this weekend but still a pain!

Unless your towing every day... I would just go with the 5-speed!

Also, when going with the Dodge unit... the hydrolics won't bolt up. You will have to either find a way to conect the Dodge slave to the GM master which doesn't work to well (I did that first and I had no clutch!)

What I landed up doing was going with South Bend Clutches HYD assembly and just fabiricating a little braket for the master cylinder to bolt to the fire wall. Cost me $200 but well worth it and its a very nice unit. I could get some pictures of the braket I used. One other thing with south bends unit... . the clutch pedal is then adjustable because they use a treaded rod... something to look into!

Good luck... Ryan

thanks for the advice. at this point all advice is being considered. i had a 2000 2500 that had a NV5600 put into it and i loved it. but i do understand where you are coming from. i drive a lotta highway miles (to and from lexington ky and kennesaw ga). humm thanks agian. when build time gets closer i'm sure i'll be in touch with you. . if you got them pictures you can email me at -- email address removed --

thanks for the help!
