Archived 96 wait to start light flashing

I have a friend with a 96 auto with a pac-brake and the wait to start light flashes. Could the pac-brake be cuasing the problem?

as far as i know (i have a pac brake as well) there should be no interference of the start light with that brake

Most likely cause is

Out of range resistance reading from the intake manifold temperature sensor. Check that the sensor is properly connected and the terminals are clean and not corroded. The computer makes the light flash when it senses this. This is the sensor that the computer looks at to determine how long the wait to start light (IE intake manifold heaters) will be on. Ken Irwin
