I have a 97 12V with a P7100 215HP pump on it that I am going to put in my 90 Ford with the NV 4500 and T-case. I have the engine out of the donor and sitting in the garage. I have so far adjusted the valves, new valve cover gaskets, netralized the KDP via a tab, will replace the pan gasket. check the transmission for the updated reverse nut and clean it and the T-case up and put in new gaskets/seals in both.

Is there anything else I should do while I have all three pieces in the garage where they are easy to work on?

I plan on putting in 4" exhaust, a BHAF, and the 13" Southbend clutch in it. I would like to increase the HP a little (around 300HP), still want good milage. Have read about fuel plates and boost elbow  Not sure exactly where they go and what they do. Anyone have suggestions for either of these to gain more HP? Photos of installs and round about prices would be great too.

So far the engine and drive train look good, should be a good running engine :D

Like I said would like to get a little more HP while keeping the milage, will have 3:55 in the Ford. Plan on keeping the stock turbo and injectors for a while also. Any advice/comments would be great.

The engine a a little different than my 05, much more simple for one :D

thanks

i would install a gsk and grind the plate a little. also bump your timing to 15. 5*. maybe some porting on the exhaust side.

Thanks,

What exactly is a gsk? and grinding the plate sounds simple enough, but Does anyone have link for a procedure for this, as well as setting the timing to 15. 5*. I understand all of this just need a little bit of illustration on how to do it. Still getting to know the 12V, it is a little different that working on my 5. 8L that is in the Ford, adjusting timing has to be a little different on the CTD.

Thanks

Edit GSK: Governor Spring Kit Got it! Little slow today :D

In the Truck?!?! I thought the truck WAS the GSK :D

If you want more info or illustration. . check out the thread "STARWHEEL" by Dickerson. . It has alot.

You will need a timing kit to bump the timing and is a little more involved than the rest of your mods.

The basics of Timing.

Find TDC with pump gear attatched. Mark on Crank Balancer.

Using the Dial indicator in the timing kit, Turn the crank until the lift requirement (found on piers harry's website in a chart) is shown on the Dial.

At this point, Remove the gear from the injection pump shaft. Clean with MOPAR brake cleaner.

You will now turn the crank back to TDC, without the injection pump shaft turning (it shouldn't because the gear won't be meshed)

Reinstall pump gear on (DRY SHAFT) injection pump.

This is just an overview so you will know what you are getting into. Joe G Has a writeup or a link of the process I think. It has all of the details. Remember, What I typed is not all that is involved. . just a brief overview.
