Just got a letter from DC today to check the linkage joints. Don't see a recall number on the letter anywhere. Looking through the archieves, it appears that prior recalls were for 96' and before. Wondering if anyone else got notice?

Nope.

Nope, I haven't seen any recall notice in the mail, but now that you said you received a letter from them, I'll be looking.

I'll also be taking a look myself to see if the linkage is showing signs of wear.

Got my notice today. I wonder if it concerns the P7100 linkage that can corrode and bind. This happened to me last year. I doused it but good with WD40 and it hasn't happened again.

But I'll visit the dealer and have it repaired, as well as having the secondary hood latch recall taken care of.

Mine was on the table when I got home. I am going to mention the paint that is coming off the hood and cab while it is in the shop...

Got mine a couple of days ago. I am guessing it is to replace the ends of the linkage where they clip on. I have changed mine once already. I wonder if I got the new or the old one? I have never had a problem with the throttle sticking but I had to change it when the linkage fell off on one end. A zip strip in the tool box saved a walk home!!:)

I am not the original owner and other than the hood latch recall, my truck has not been at a dealer's since I got it at 62K. Now at 127K.

You have to let DC know you own the truck and then you get the notices. Just go down to the dealer and ask about the recall and they will put you in the puter for future recalls too.

"What about those of us who are not the original owner, do we still get one?"

Maybe, maybe not,BUT,as the current owner you do not need the safety recall notice to have it repaired,,for any federally mandated recall notice all you need to do is drop by the stealers, oops dealers, and have your vin number with you,,They will run the number thru their system and see what outstanding recalls there are and inform you of them,,Then schedule your appointment and have them fixed...

Mine came today ,and along with Fest3er,I will have it and the hood latch done at the same time,,Kinda scary though,I'm not one for wanting the parts exchanger near my pump, but,we have no recourse in this deal,,I just hope he does only the recall or there may be a problem... ... . Andy

My truck is from Quebec Ca. How it made its way back here to Michigan Beats me, but I haven't got a recall notice ever or even know if anything has been done to the truck. I tried going to a tracking service but all they could tell me is that its never had any recorded accidents and that I'm the second owner:rolleyes:  ... . Rick

I will have to have my VIN number run then and see what they say. I'm with you Hammer, I am scared to let anyone else get work on my truck. I have never had anyone else do mechanical work to any of my vehicles except for the normal stuff like alignments and tires.

I got my recall notice too. I had a sticky throttle problem a while back. I brought it to the stealer, and they couldnt duplicate the problem.

So, I went to the local guy (where I didnt buy it) and he fixed it for free. He said there was a TSB on it, and couldnt understand why the 1st dealer couldnt fix it.
