Truck is a friends 97 auto. In park or neutral idles fine right around 750rpm. Once you shift into drive or any gear it imediately bogs down to around 300rpm and will die if you dont give it some pedal. Any ideas?

Truck's idle should 750 to 800 rpm when in drive and A/C on( that's how you set it. ) The idle screw can wear down a little after many years so you have to adjust it.
