I have a 97' 215hp with the heavy duty 5speed and a south bend clutch.

So pretty much all stock.

I want to produce around 300 hp/ 600-800ft torque.

I want to design a system that will allow this with the most efficient and cost effective manner.

I hear EGT's can be high on these, any recommendations other than a new turbo?

My first upgrade will be a full pillar pyro and boost gages, again any recommendations?

OK, if 300hp is easy I might want more. So then what would you recommend on a daily driver that sees 30-35000 a year.

I want this baby to go but not to an early grave.

370's and dv will really add power. But then you will need a turbo. 4" pipe and a air cleaner. I like the afe air cleaner myself. I drive my 97 40-60 k a year btw

I thought you didn't need DV's w/ a 215 pump and 370's

I was running the stock turbo w/ a #6 plate and 370 injectors on my 215 motor for quite a while... obviously you gotta keep your eye on the pyro, but heck, my pyro swings harder now w/ the HX40 than it did back then w/ the stock turbo! LOL! (more fuel)

A fuel plate is all you need to get over 300hp. Much beyond that will cost you more $$/hp .

If you have a standard cab truck do a search on transfer case savers and snap rings.

with my delivery valves (191's), I am able to make over 400+ HP with stock injectors. see my sig for my list of mods. I would definitely recommend a bigger turbo, intake and exhaust too, but I promise you will love the sound of the HX40 whining under full throttle! Which type of SBC clutch are you running?
