This year I have notice that the 47RE trans ,seems to go in and out of lock up, to the point if I do not let up, it shacks the truck pretty hard.My Dad put the banks system on the truck , but never addressed the transmission.Since I got the truck ,I can not get to hard on it ,or the trans doesn't like it .Do I need to address the torque converter or trans?or both.

It isn't any secret that Dodge derated the engine due to the weakness of the automatic. There are a plethora of upgrades you can do to the transmission, all you need to do is decide how much money you want to spend.

I would like to fix the lock up part , to stop the in and out of lock up,to stop the violent shake. what up grades do I need to do. Thanks Dave

I had a similar problem with my '96. A national transmission repair business told me that I needed a rebuilt trans to solve the problem. I decided to wait until the transmission quit working before spending $4000.00. I later learned about a guy who specialized in auto transmission's in diesel trucks. Long story short, I needed a throttle position sensor. It cost about $200.00. The transmission has been working great ever since he did the work. This guy also builds transmission's for truck pullers. He tells the owners that something may break when pulling in competition, but it will NOT be his transmission. I have sent several guys to see him and all of them were happy with his work.

I have looked to see if I have a throttle position sensor, and can't find it on the pump, were it should be.I see no wirers or a plug in the area they say it should be. So do I have one and if so ,is it in a different place on the P7100 pump?

I found it.It was where they said it was,I just couldn't see where it plugged in at, was hiding be hide the wire loom.
