I did the post on the Cruise control kick out problem and I wound up calib. the throttle and it hasn't come back since. Cured??? New prob, engine running too hot pulling grades and it gets hot just sitting at traffic signal waiting. Air temp in the 90's. I did a short trip with the 5th wheel in town and parked in front of the house and popped the hood. I shut down and I could spin the fan with about the same amount of friction that it has when the whole thing is cool. Should'nt it be near lock up under the circumstance? Engine temp at shutdown was ~ 200.

The fans do go bad. If it is engaging you should hear it when it turns on. It should be on very steady on a day with temps in the 90's if you're running the AC driving around town.

Hardest part of changing it is getting the fan to unscrew off the pully. Hold the pully and turn the fan nut CW as looking from the front.
