2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission 98 1/2 ton steering gear box

A body of mine has a 98 1500 and his steering box is leaking where the out put shaft is. My question is it easyer to buy a OEM gear box or is there a rebuild kit offered? If there is how hard is it to rebuild? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

I think that rebuilt steering gear assemblies are probably available and much easier.
