I have 98 24v and I have no fuel pressue. Fuel filter was down about 3000m. ago. I don't here the lift pump running. The truck ran fine in the morning. I did not notice any low numbers on my lift pump. What is the fuse for the lift pump?

Do they fail in this manner? Just completely die? I always thought they died slowly.

Did a search and it sounds like riflesmith had a relay go out that caused lift pump to not function . He swapped out a relay labeled ''security'' and it ran it to pressure. Some of the other relays he tried were not to the task.

Title of thread is ''fuel system relay failure'' by Riflesmith

Looks like he has a good idea to carry spare relays.

Any threads or info out there that give a listing of fuse and relay location?

Fuel lift pump

Tried swapping out the relay and it did not fix the problem. I am going to try putting in a new lift pump next. Any other idea's. I cannot hear the pump run at all.

lift pump

I couldn't hear my pump either, but when I had somone turn on the ignition key I could feel pump with my hand on it. This was the only way I could tell mine was running. You might want to do this. If it is, check your pressure make sure it is running properly.

When you get a new Lift Pump go to www.jannettyracing.com and get a 7# pusher pump to put inline by the tank. you will need the pump and the kit for the pusher pump.

I did another thing where I put a Ricor 30 micron "rock catcher" Filter/water separator before the pumps to keep them clean... .

I also had to put in a Fuel press. regulator and route the return to a inlet on the 30 micron filter so even the pusher pump has a small head pressure so it don't have to work hard... .

Do a search on "my fuel system finally done" to see pics.

Have constant 13 psi (my setting by the regulator) and no less than 11 or 12 WOT with 2 boxes on and 29 PSI on the boost... .
