My how time flies. Back on 7/23/13 I posted that my 98.5 24 V started to smoke all of a sudden and Chip Fisher from Blue Chip thought that it was a IP. I was looking for something less expensive and hoped it was an injector. Some of you thought so too. Well I let it sit for a yr, didn't want to spend the money. I finially took the plunge and bought a set of reman injectors and hoped that would fix it. Just got the truck back from the mechanic and no more smoke and runs fantastic. Put 40-60 HP injectors in so there is a noticeable increase in performance. Hope this is the last of the expensive repairs for this money pit. (replaced 53 block, new clutch and now injectors)

Glad to hear you got it running good. I had an odd issue with my '98.5, I put different injectors in...mild ones... and it started smoking too much black for the amount of power it was making. It pretty much smoked even with mild acceleration and could really make a cloud when I hammered it. I thought being it was an early 98.5 it needed the newer style injector crossover tubes (since the early 98.5 engines the tubes cannot be reused), so I found a cheap set from an '01 and installed them with a better set if injectors (Stage II Jammers from Source Automotive). Wallah, smoke disappeared along with a considerable power increase, I'm pretty happy with it.
