Have you had the Serv. Bull. flash for the 47re 98. 5 transmission to help with the TC trying to shift at cruising speeds when you excelerate???

Did it work?? If not what did you do next?? New TC and/or

Tanny?

Thanks in advance!

I had 40 Hrs of regional tech rep from DC and the dealership mechanic. They could not fix it. It was not a mechanical problem. It was noise in the APPS signal. That noise can come from a bad APPS, noisy electronics, noise in the wiring harness. What finally solved it on mine- after chasing it for two years was the battery replacement. If one battery had cracked internal lead the noise from that or a loose connection can cause the noise on the wire. Make sure the flash is done, diconnect and clean all the power connectors, make sure the alternator is goood, clean the battery posts. If that does not work try more exotic things. Get the APPS wire out of the harness this may require a cut and resolder. Bring it to an aftermarket vendor. I got some good advice from Mass diesel and the guys at "Dee Tea Tea" No trans war starting here. I did not go in but when I do turn up my truck they will be doing the trans upgrade. Do searches of the threads- TC hunting, TC lockup, toque converter Etc. This will give lots of more ideas than mine- It is beatable don't let it beat you!
