Hello to all. I did the 98-99 HD steering upgrade on my 95 Ram 2500 2 months ago. Everything went together with no problems. I sent it out for an alignment and put a universal Rancho steering stabilizer on it. I also replaced the body mounts, control arm bushings and track bar bushings with polyurethane bushings. The steering box was replaced 3 years ago and I replaced the steering shaft with a Borgeson. I also installed the steering box brace. The truck still wanders all over the road especially on the highway. The tie rod hits the front axle cover when making a hard left hand turn. The steering also does not want to return to center while driving but I think I had this problem since I bought the truck. I have new ball joints but did not install them yet because the ones on the truck seem to be good. Does anyone have any ideals on what else I can to to get the steering under control? I keep sinking money into the truck and I feel like it maybe a lost cause. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Was the steering box replaced with a reman from auto parts store (Napa, Autozone, etc) I have had bad luck with them most of the time end up being as bad or worse than the one it replaces. Borgeson or redhead is the only way to go in my book. If all your joints are tight (tie rods, track bar, ball joints) maybe consider the box, or hubs, but they would fail pretty quick if something wrong with them. You say the tie rod hit front axle, is there a Luke's link on the track bar? Does it hit the pumpkin?

I have the receipt from the shop that did it but it doesn't show the steering box brand. The tie rod hits the diff cover when making a hard left(not by much just seems to rub. Another inch and it wouldn't be a problem). I replaced the trac bar bushing was with Energy suspensions (urethane).
