I have a brake problem 1998 12v I rebuilt the rear useing GM

1998 rear wheel cylindres 1. 0625 the dodge wheel cylinders were smaller

. 875 did a lot of good for the rear. did the front with HD dodge parts

resluts were Not Good at all

I heard about using GM calapers from a 4X4 3500

the calaper will fit the dodge spindle using 3500 break pad

more pad surface

but their is is a 1/4 . 250 gap between the rotor & the pad

rotor is not as wide as the 3500

Has any one used this set up & how did it work out

did you use a spacer

& what GM parts did you use.

Larry I did the fronts on my '96 using slotted rotors and Performance Friction brake pads. Really helped. Didn't break the bank either. I spent some extra $$ and bought blueprinted calipers from EGR, they greatly reduce the chance of binding up & pulling.

You should read Rhonda's writeup on the Home Page of TDR about ART brakes . . .

I would like to hear about the GM calipers as well.

Are you saying that the GM calipers will not squeeze the pads in enough to take up the 1/4in difference?

I am researching GM brakes on a 1998 2500 2x2

dodge 12V

looks like the 1998 3500 GM 3500 duel rear wheel 4X4 ,front calaper would work with pads the problem the GM rotor is 1/4

in. thicker would leave a 1/4 in. gap I think the calaper would make up for the gap. do not know if the master cylinder would have the volum needed may have a low pedal. Has any one used GM brake parts what model & Parts did you use

with out any mods. how was the out come.

I would like to use standard GM parts

May have machine shop make a 1/4 inch spacer if need be. it looks like it will work.

I know about the high performance brakes

& high Friction pads. I would like to use GM if possable
