Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 99 24 valve

I bought a 99 24 valve today and some parts are missing from the front top center . I don't have any idea whats suppoze to be there. Any info thanks guys.

The fan clutch assembly and mounting bracket and the U shaped upper cooling hose and thermostat housing. The black plastic throttle cable assembly cover is missing, too.



Got anymore pics? Take a picture of the engine block serial number and post it on here. This is kinda important.



I dont see an alternator?

Yeah . No alt,starter,flywheel . or thermostat housing. I put it in storage to work on later so I don't have the cpl

or engine serial number with me at home. My friend that introduced me to TDR got a parts list or something from cummins . Would it be helpful to have with a service manual cd or does the service manual cover part number. and build info?

I have a thermo housing and alt bracket if you need them. Also dont see the crank breather hose.

I was wondering if it was a '53' block. It's a number cast into the side of the block itself.

Got it from a local transport company . was in a wide load escort truck 2500 . The truck caught fire and burned up the cab but engine was ok . They took parts off for there other trucks and some things I left with them because I can't use them in my conversion and it cost less. $500 . Number on block is 6 with some small numbers around it ,need to clean gunk off to read all the small numbers. Has oil around trans adapter/flexplate side will look at rear seal when I take off adapter.

venting for early 24v motors was located behind the transfer pump with a plastic tube that ran down between the block and starter.

I believe my engine was #431 off the assembly line. The vent behind the transfer pump and above the ecm causes less mess on the radiator. I installed the Enviroguard kit and that completely cleaned up the venting mess.
