I have a 99 24V 5spd that is dead in the water. 100 miles after replacing the lift pump the truck dieded out on the road. It just shut off. I got it home and checked for codes. I had none. I had gotten bad fuel, water, a few tanks back. I call a pump shop and they said it probably broke the head and rotor. I have accses to a 98 24v At truck that runs but has a bad piston. I pulled the pump from that truck and put it on mine to see it that was the problem, but no start no fuel out of the lines. I then tried switching crank sensors. Still no luck. I checked for power at the pump and ground. Pin 6 & 7. Looks good. I thought about changing ecm's. I do have air free fuel to the pump and about 14psi fuel pressure.

Do you have fuel leaving the fuel filter housing? If you have fuel leaving the filter & have 14 psi post filter and no fuel coming out the high pressure injection lines... . It still sounds like VP to me..... I'm no expert by any means but I believe the VP can be tested ON THE TRUCK by a shop with the right test equipment.

There is a Hot box that will eliminate all the electroncs on the truck. It connects to the batt and injection pump only. It will start, idle or idle up @ 1500 rpm. Any Cummins shop certified to work on the B engine should have one as well as any Dodge Dealer. You can do the same with jumper wires but it is risky if you should short the wrong pins together

I do have fuel to the injection pump. I think I can rule out the injection pump, due to the fact that none good part made no difference. It must be something electrical. I was going to change the engine wire harness, ecm's and pcm's.
