Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) '99 Auto to 5spd

I am in the process of converting my '99 to 5spd. Do I need to change my engine to trans. adapter? I have had people say yes and no. What about the wiring to make the cruise and everything work? Do I just need to put a rocker switch in the neutral switch so the cruise will work and it will crank?
