I know a guy who has a 99 stock 4x4 truck that has a problem, his truck will loose all the fuel in the filter housing and drain back into his tank, he took the lines loose and made sure that no holes were in them and also pulled the tank and checked the fuel gauge sender and pick up with no seen problems? he says that it looses nearly all the fuel in the filter and he has to fill the filter back up with fuel and then bleed the air back out to get it to start! he has no fuel leaking on the ground either! any one ever had this to happen or heard of this ? also I was looking at his truck and noticed that it was a club cab with out the opening rear doors? could you order it like this in 99? I thought that all the club cab from 98. 5 up 24valve trucks had rear doors that would open? his truck had been a rebuilt wreck and could have had a cab change if they didnt offer that ? Thanks for reading this post!

I have not seen exactly that. Last fall the fuel heater, which is in the top of the fuel canister melted. I had a leak. If your frineds is only cracked, it could bleed air and start a siphon.

P. S. I had to get my new canister from Cummins, Dodge had none in the US and Cummins only had 2, one of which is in my old truck.
