Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) 99 dodge 2500 WTS light flashing.

I have a 99 dodge 2500. Sunday morning the wait to start light started flashing and the lift pump wouldnt come on, therefore the truck wouldnt start. That afternoon I disconected the battery's for about 5 min then reconnected them and the truck started fine for the rest of the day. Monday morning the same issue. I have check the relays and fuses. Any Ideas.

flashing wtsl means no software programmed into ecm. I would say your ecm flash memory is failing. By disconnecting the batteries you reset the system so you were good to go. I would look for a used 2000 or 2001 ecm and have it programmed for your 98 truck.

Thank you for response. I was thinking it was the ecm but wasnt sure. I have ordered one from Orriellys but dont know were to get it programmed. Do you have any suggestions or do you still advise buying a used one? Thank you for your time.

used one work great if you can find a 2000-2001 and have it programmed for your 1999 truck.
