All 4 brakes apply? Or just one of the fronts? If all apply it's probably in the hydrolics. If it's one of the front wheels and not the other I'd bet $$$ on a bad brake hose. The old inside of the rubber line created a flap causing a check valve - I know it only happens when you turn the steering but does it happen regardless of which way the wheel is turned? If so, I remember hearing about there being a screen in the steering pump that can cause weird stuff to happen when it gets real dirty - clogged. Do a search for "steering pump screen" and see if that gets you anything. I'd hate to have to replace a hydro unit $$$ if it was something simple. Keep us posted on whatever you find out. Thanks.

When I turn wheel slightly off of center either way, both frt brakes apply, haven't ck'd rears yet. I've fixed two trucks that had no power steering assist and blew ps fluid out the cap when turning by disassembling the pump valve and screen assy/cleaning/polishing valve (thanks to the guys here at TDR) and was going to start there first if no answers here. I'll post the fix when I find out. Thanks.

Wow that's not good. I'm wondering if there's so much pressure due to steering pump mod if it's forcing the brakes on. The power steering doe's supply assist to the hydro brake unit - yes? Not sure. Will watch this thread for sure to see the outcome.
