Installed a FASS HPFP 95glp on my 99 a month or so ago. Ran the 3/8 line to the stock fuel filter. Psi was great and could not draw it below 16psi at WOT. About a week ago I smelled Diesel fuel, check under truck and rear of front diff and starter are wet. The Fuel Heater unit on the fuel filter housing was leaking. Quess the FASS is doing it job! :-laf

Call Dodge and Cummins to source a new housing and they both come up with the same anwser. The early 24v's with the fuel filter as on my 99 cannot be bought or sourced at all any longer. Dodge and Cummins can sell a filter replacement kit which is the newer design. That kit is in the 700 dollar range. :{

Well since Dodge and Cummins drop the ball agian I decided to make something work. Called Glaicer Diesel and order the universal Fuel/Water seperator Filter Kit :

This kit comes with all needed to add in line and a frame rail mount. I give my great Diesel Tech (Albie) a call and tell him I need his skill once agian. Once again I am very pleased and amazed at how oem he made this look. Here are a few pics of the new setup. Not a psi below 17 now. Oo.

Also Installed new Map IAT sensor and this S&B Intake. A louder turbo and better response with this cool air instead of the bhaf turbo heat...

I think I would want better than 20 micron protection for a vp-44

I have a inline small strainer filter and this. You can opt for a 2micron filter but I wanted the option to drain any water, since u loose the fuel heater and WIF sensor when taking the stock housing out.

Good luck :) the factory filter is about 10 micron

I like the intake! How is it working out for you? I'm planning on going with an AEM Brute Force, but like the enclosed housing of the S&B ... looks sharp!

Looks good Smitdog. Now I don't wanna hear any more about this truck for a while. :D

Make sure to send Albie my way! I've got plenty to keep him busy!

I really like the S&B. I had to drill one new hole to get the cool air box to line up correctly. I am very pleased with the performance. On warm days and after a short running time I deff could feel a slack in power with the BHAF, had to be all the heat from the turbo with no heatsheild.

The S&B is very fairly priced. I got mine for 211. 00 shipped. Cant beat that. I did not want to spend the 400 some for the AFE. I am a happy camper! Oo.

Smitty, I liked that intake so much I just got off the phone from ordering one. By the way, beat your price by a dollar, shipped to my door too! :p

How do you like it? I'm guessing the plastic housing will insulate the filter better than metal ... we'll see!

I like the intake. With my old setup, which was a Bhaf with no heatsheild, I deff could notice power loss on warm days.

S&B makes a nice intake and really cant be beat for the price. I like how the enitre filter is enclosed except for the fender side. I reinstalled the small fender snorkle also. Turbo sings and I do not feel the power loss once things get warmed up! :-laf

Is "Flows 40. 2% Better than the OE induction system at Rated Flow (527 CFM)" good enough for our engines?

The price listed is $231. 69 - so how'd you guys get it for $210 w/shipping? ? ? ? Die we not go with the "Free Engraving with Online Purchase!"????

Share the knowledge - that's what this site is all about - sweet set up - just not sure about the oiled filter . . . .

Joe, I just went to S&B's site and did a dealer locate and contacted the closest dealer. That is price they gave me. I forget the name but the dealer was the only one listed on there site in Deleware.

Cool Thanks Smitty.

Anyone know what Cummins rates the CFM for our engines should be? Somehow I recall 1000 CFM but that could have been what another filter was rated at ? ? ?

The factory airbox flows about 350cfm... ... ... .

http://www.sbfilters.com/cfm_calculator.php So the 527 they claim should be fine w/our trucks.
