my '99 3500 losses power while towing my camper. This usually happens on a long grade. If I cycle the key off and on it will reset something and will run good again. (sometimes for 20 miles and sometimes for 10 seconds. Also If I put the clutch in and let the engine come down to an idle, it will reset. I have just had the lift pump changed. The truck has 100,200 miles on it. Can any one help??

I fixed a 99 Ram that would loose power after it was driven a few miles and would be ok after it cooled down. I drove it with a scanner connected and at the moment it lost power the boost sensor stopped responding. A new sensor corrected the problem.

The engine also has protection built in and derates power under many different conditions, but should turn on the cel if that is happening. Check for codes.
