Welcome to TDR I see you are posting the 1st time. On my POS van I put a fan in front of the transmission cooler and put on a double deep pan.

Welcome!

Hello DShapiro, welcome to the TDR. It would help us to help you if you would fill in your signature. Go to the top of the page and click on 'User Control Panel" from that page click on 'Edit Profile' Then fill in your truck info and your location.

As for cooling your trans, the factory coolers do a pretty good job most of the time. Where are you reading your trans temp?? What temperatures are you seeing and under what driving/towing conditions??

During start and stop driving expecially towing you will see high temps. But once on the highway, the transmision torque converter locks and the temps will stay at about 140-180*, these are perfectly normal temps. During start and stop the ATF may get up to 220-240* without harm.

Hope this helps, Greg L
