'99 vs. 2001.5

I have happened to realize that my 2001 HO shuts down fuel at approx 95 mph. this is even with the Powermax 2. My '99 didn't do this. Has anyone else noticed this.

My ETH doesn't seem to exhibit that behavior,
only had it up to 105 was still pullin, backed out of it due to five-o paranoia... 3. 54s and stock

Your truck has a speed limiter.
Cavity 43 on the ECM. White/orange wire.
Cut it.

I wanted to see how fast my truck would go one day and took it up 100+ and she wanted to go faster. I think I got 115 before I let up, she was starting to to get to the "RED" zone. I have the 4:10 gears in my truck.
I don't think I would cut any wires, everything is computerized in our trucks and one thing senses into another and so on and so on.
Good Luck. Me I don't drive that fast anymore, things like wife, children, ins. payments and points on a drivers license keep me somewhere between 5 and 10 over.

I just wanted to run up there once to compare to my last truck. my '97 (4x4,5spd,3. 54 gears) would hit 110 and the govenor would kick in at 3200 RPM. with my new one I hit 100 and had 500 RPM left to go. It was still pulling (empty of course) but I was cuming up behind slower traffic and let off. I don't like speed runs whith other traffic around.

I don't know if all the ETH's have the speed limiter, but I think so. From what I know the speed limiter has been introduced with Y2K trucks. ( All modells)
The ECM isn't smart enough to understand that the speed signal is missing. So no troubles when you cut that wire.
