wondering what is the differance between the two motors- meaning what would have to be done to the 99 to bring it up to 2001 power specs? I know that the auto transmission numbers are 215 hp for 99 and 235 hp for 2001. Thanks-

My 2000 see sig is a 215 also. They changed to the 235hp a month after my truck ws made. I understand that the difference is electronics. Programed the EMC to retard at shift points in the auto so you would not tear it up. Made some one else can provide a more technical explaination.

Calculated HP for rear wheel HP would be approx. 170HP and 190HP, only about 20 HP difference, so 275 injectors would be more than the difference. If your looking to just up the ponies a little get a mild fueling and timeing box and reap the benefits of more HP and better fuel mileage. With the auto transmission you can not go much over the mild boxes without causeing harm to the transmission.

I agreee the power increase is just a program change on the ECM. I was told they upgraded the HP in the 2001 because DC felt the Auto could take the aditional power.
