congrats to adam@winspeed diesel. today i got to see a VP44 truck put down 990 hp at TriValleyPerformance. no torque readings. supposedly someone damaged the gadget for reading rpm's. this has to be a world record for a single VP44.
 
fuel only... ... with twins I assume... .



with nitrous. although, the truck was not getting its full dosage of nitrous. something had happened to one of the lines to the jet. once he fixes that problem he believes the truck should hit over 1k hp.



the truck is running a single charger.
 
truck is running winspeed injectors, i believe a bell turbo, drag comp and i want to say he has a ported common rail head. oh yeah, this is all done without having to run some high priced special camshaft. maybe someone else with more knowledge will chime in.
 
Stock bottom end, Steve got most of the other stuff. Adam does have some top secret stuff in there too, maybe he'll chime in...

The bottle was getting cold, and the line was too small to supply both jets, so that was causing the power to fluctuate a little. 1000hp is out there though!!

I hope he chimes in!! I'm looking to get similarly ridiculous numbers out of mine as well, still hoping someone will give away some secrets though. LOL

How are/is he running a Common Rail head on a 24v block since none of the water jackets match up for use???... . Andy
 
it's a CR head----are you 100% positive the water jackets don't line up??? I'm just asking as I don't know, but I do know it's a CR head with some porting---single turbo, NOS and lightening injectors(I believe)---I'm not sure what box he is using now---I believe he said 52lbs of boost and 1150* on the EGT's-----bottom end is stock and that ='s no aftermarket cam---it does have the ARP 625 studs and an aftermarket intake horn(not sure which one right now)---chris
 
I remember people saying it was a CR head. I also remember others in the past have tried to run the CR MLS headgasket, but said they couldn't because some of the water jackets holes did not line up on the older blocks with the stock MLS gasket. :D
 
I think he did blow a gasket right after he got it put together--one of the latest, greatest multi-layered ones I think--I'll try and find out---he went back to what he used in the past, which I can't recall, and all has been ok----I'll also ask him about the water jackets----seems to me that I've heard in the past that they do fit, but again I have no proof, besides that Adam is running one--I saw it---------the injector lines don't mate up so you need to have customs, but other than that I know nothing more-----chris
