A/C CLUNKS loudly when it's turned on.

Am I the only one who gets a very loud clunk and thump from the engine when I turn on my AC? It's almost like the A?C compressor doesn't want to start... . then is overpowered by the engines horsepower. Sometimes the noise and vibration are so loud and hard I wonder if something Big just broke under the hood.



Should I be concerned or ask my dealer to fix it?

I just got my 05 not to long ago and noticed the same thing when I would turn on the A/C, but I have seen and red servile threads on here about the same problem. Seems to be the nature of the beast. I would not be to concern about it. Check some other threads here about it, and maybe some of the other folks will chime in about it.

Mine does the same thing. It sounded like something broke the first time I heard it. A buddy of mine has an '04. 5 and it does the same thing too.

Mine has a slight clunk when you turn on the A/C but not enough to be alarmed about. It seems about the same as my 2nd Gen was.
