My A/C clutch plate just went out after 105k miles. Not bad but I can't find an aftermarket clutch plate. They can only sell me a whole new compressor for $300! The same from the dealer except the compressor is $500. Where can I get a $50 clutch plate instead of replacing a perfectly good compressor? This is insane!!

The way things are today, a clutch may be hard to find... everybody just replaces entire assemblies now instead of just "fixing what's broken". However, I would do anything not to have to open up your a/c system. If worse comes to worse, go dig around in a junkyard...

Thanks for the suggestions. One of the web sites took me to Polar Bear Inc http://www.polarbearinc.com/main2.htm
The guys there had a new clutch plate by itself that I purchased for $35. 00! Much better than a compressor for $400! Ten minutes and the A/C is working fine again.
It seems this company rebuilds A/C units. I highly recommend people talk to them for A/C compressor parts. Dodge support is abysmal
for A/Cs!
Thanks for the help!
