A/C compressor clutch?

Sometimes when I have let my truck sit a few days and then start it up and turn the A/C on, I hear a loud noise. Sounds like maybe the clutch trying to engage?

Kind of a grinding sort of noise. Goes away after a couple of secs and If I turn the A/C off and then on again I can not get it to duplicate.



Any ideas?

Completely normal. Sometimes mine bangs so loud that I can feel it in the floorboards and I swear the compressor is going to come flying out the hood. 48k miles and 2. 5 years, no A/C problems. Many people on here have reported this issue. Don't worry about it.
