Came out of Home Depot and saw belt hanging under truck. Probably good this didn't happen on freeway. Is it possible to use belt for non a/c trucks to get on road?
This happened to my by 1994 2500 Dodge Ram

Yes, you can use the non-A/C belt. The grooved side will run on the smooth tensioner pulley, but it will be ok.

This is the routing.

Well, I just put on another belt and got a few miles, but now it looked worse than the first one. Only got a few more miles to go, about half on freeway hopefully engine won't heat as much

Does your insurance or cell phone offer free breakdown towing? Maybe even AAA. It's a lot less stress, and risk of further damage to your pickup, to wait in a nice air conditioned building, then an air conditioned ride with your truck on the hook being delivered to your air conditioned garage where all your tools are. Most of these plans are pretty cheap and even a $200 tow bill isn't much more than the ~$120 in belts that burned up.

When was the last time a/c serviced? Was it noisy or no?

Just asking as helps folks try to not be left on the side of the road.

Thanks for sharing!

Cheers, Ron
