Help me out here guys, My A/C compressor has a pretty good clunck to it when the clutch engages,it doesnt matter if you have it on when you start the truck or if you start up then engage the A/C after the all mighty cummins is running. It does'nt sound to good to me, is this normal or do I have a problem? :( Kevin

Mine too. The A/C clutch has clunked when engaging ever since I bought the truck. My cousin is HVAC specialist and said the clutch is a heavy duty model that tends to make more noise engaging, and that there wasn't anything to worry about.

Mine does it too. First time I thought something broke or came apart. It might go months before it does it again. So I guess it is just a one of those things.

Mine just gives 1 clunk about 5 seconds after start-up then I don't hear from it until next start-up.

Occasionally, mine will make a loud click each time the compressor cycles on. At other times, the only way I know it's running is by the rpm drop and rise.

I thought my a/c was out of the norm but it sounds as if they all do the clunk thing so I guess i'm OK,I did check all my bolts and they are tight .

Ram on fellers and keep cool... ... ... ... ... ..... Kevin
