I need a new A/C compressor. What is the best one to buy I see Rockauto has some and I have not priced out NAPA yet.

Any body have any recent experiences? Good Bad? Best prices?

I replaced my compressor at about 200k with another OEM because I thought it was near the end of it's useful life. Turns out the only thing I needed was the pencil looking screen that goes in the pressure line. I now have about 600k on the replacement compressor and have replaced the screen once. I recommend you spend the few extra dollars for a new OEM. Check out mopar4less for a price.

a few years ago i got a new (not reman) compressor off ebay cheaper then local parts stores were selling reman's for, not sure if this is still the case but worth checking, get a new accumulator and orifice tube, they filter out moisture and general crud and if the old compressor grenaded its not a bad idea to flush the system, back flushing the condenser may save it from the compressor bits that may of been blown into it

A/C Clutch

Check your A/C compressor clutch to see if it is cracked and loose.

The clutch can be changed without removing compressor from engine

Another vote for OEM replacement.

Not much luck here with aftermarket ones for any applications.

Mike. :)
