Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) A/C connections -- how do they break apart?

changing out the A/C evaporator today. how do I break apart the A/C connections? I have removed the aluminum clips, but am afraid to pry on the connections to get them apart. looks like there is a metal spring in there... .

yes, those are springs. U need a tool with plastic fitting that pushs up into the spring, and puts the tension off the fitting. After doing this they slip right out, most of the time, lol. I'm sure most parts houses will carry this tool, ... reb
